The Black Fly Writers Retreat is an inspiring four-day, three-night weekend of workshops, readings, and writing.

The MWPA collaborates with our friends at the Cobscook Institute on the Iota Conference in mid October each year. The conference offers multi-genre generative workshops and an optional multi-genre pre-submitted workshop, not to mention readings and conversations, good food, and fellowship, over three days in beautiful Downeast Maine. MWPA’s PITCH offers writers the chance to pitch their manuscripts or book proposals to agents from leading NYC-based literary agencies and editors from some of Maine’s largest publishers.

The 2024 Maine Crime Wave will be an evening and a full day of conversations and panels, workshops, awards, a keynote talk, book signings, and much more on Friday, June 14 and Saturday, June 15 in Portland.
