Call for Native Writing

The Maine Lit Fest is celebrating writing from the Wabanaki Nations and other Native people in Maine. We want to read your work!

MWPA will select up to 5 emerging Native writers to receive a 1-night stay in Portland, a stipend of $100 (which can be used towards travel and gas), and an opportunity to meet Native writers Morgan Talty, Terese Marie Mailhot, and Joan Naviyuk Kane when they are in conversation at the Maine Lit Fest on Tuesday, October 4th, 2022.

This opportunity is for persons who (1) are 12 years of age or older at the time of application, (2) are members of one of the Wabanaki Nations or other Native peoples, and (3) currently reside in Maine.

QUESTIONS? Contact MWPA associate director Taryn Bowe at taryn@mainewriters.org.
