An In-Person Poetry Workshop
As part of the Write ME project, poet Christian Barter will lead a free epistolary poetry workshop. Please register by clicking on the button below.
Barter writes, “In this workshop, we will talk about the epistolary poem as a form (used in many ways) and we will write some epistolary poems of our own. I’ll supply some prompts with the purpose of getting us writing—but also with the intention of encountering the unexpected in our own work and perhaps freeing elusive truths from ourselves. We might even get a start on writing a good letter or two that we could actually send to someone.”
Christian Barter’s fourth book of poetry, The Ends, is forthcoming from Littoral Books. He has received a Hodder Fellowship from Princeton University, the Maine Literary Award for Poetry, the Isabella Gardner Award from BOA Editions, and was the Poet Laureate of Acadia National Park. For over thirty years he has worked for the Acadia trail crew as a stone worker, rigger, arborist and supervisor.
