A 2 Week IN-PERSON Fiction, Nonfiction, Screenwriting, Stagewriting and Memoir Workshop
2 Thursdays, November 9 & 16 in Bangor
ALL LEVELS
This workshop is for all writers curious to explore the art of writing active dialogue. Andrea Lepcio started her career as a playwright, where she learned that dialogue is always action. We will investigate this argument through exercises, class discussion, and hearing and critiquing our texts. The discussion will include levels of dialogue, writing for character, voice of character, and dialogue style.
We will be reading excerpts by Lanford Wilson, Tennessee Williams, Arthur Miller, Tina Howe, Suzy Lori Parks, Aaron Sorkin, Nora Ephron, Raymond Chandler, Toni Morrison, Margaret Atwood and Joan Didion. Learn how you can sharpen your dialogue and ensure that it drives your story.
+ This workshop is for writers in multiple genres, including playwrights, screenwriters, fiction, nonfiction and memoir writers., and is also appropriate for any level, from beginner to advanced.
+ PLEASE NOTE This workshop will occur IN-PERSON at Bangor Public Library’s Board Room.
