A 2-Day Poetry Workshop

Friday, April 19, 5-8 PM at Turner Memorial Library

Saturday, April 20, 9 AM - 12 PM at the Library House

Distraction is one of the pervasive aspects of modern life. We're bombarded with a million voices from a million faces saying a million things every day, on the radio, in print, in the checkout line, on a million screens. Much of it is noise and clutter, but then, something leaps at the edge of it all, a fascinating flash. You look just in time to see it disappear into a hole, and you wonder what it was and where it leads. This workshop is your opportunity to pursue it, to burrow with it, beneath the detritus, beyond the dinning demands of daily life, and to convert whatever you capture into lyrical wordplay.

$120 Members/$175 Nonmembers

Anthony Dolan Scott teaches and writes in Aroostook County, where he has lived for eighteen years, though he grew up in Louisiana. He is a familiar face in the arts of Northern Maine, from literature to music to theater, as a writer, performer, and event coordinator. In addition to the publication of individual small works, His poetry collection, The Year Things Came Apart, depicts his journey to finding both his voice and “home” in Northern Maine.
