What are the benefits of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram in reaching an audience? What should a writer share on their social media channels: facts about writing, their books…their life? Is it necessary to be active on every site at the social media buffet?
Social media bedevils many writers who would prefer to be anonymous but are being told by publishers that anonymity isn’t an option in an age of increasing artist accessibility and self-promotion. Join New York Times best-selling author Jenna Blum, whose activities on social media have been credited with greatly increasing her readership, as she walks attendees through strategies for using social media to build their author brand and connect with readers.
This presentation will include lecture, discussion, and Q&A, and participants will leave with a written description of what social media avenues they’re willing to and enthusiastic about using and why.
+ PLEASE BRING If possible, please bring a laptop or device with wi-fi capability (attendees will be looking at sample social media pages).
Snow date: Saturday, February 8 from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM
