New Student Board Members

MWPA welcomes two new Student Board Members this week, Katie Prior and Ava Anderson. Katie and Ava will serve as board members for the next year, bringing new perspectives to the board while receiving a free MWPA membership as well as mentorship and board experience.

Katie Prior (at right) is a poet, specialty coffee expert, film photographer and new-things-trier who is currently finishing up at University of Southern Maine. She represents and advocates for writers like herself and is passionate about mobilizing working class multi-potentialites from York to Caribou, and helping to support a generation of writers characterized by adaptability. She lives with her cat in a shoebox apartment in Portland.

Ava Anderson (at left) is a sophomore at University of Maine at Farmington studying creative writing. She is from west Texas, and ventured to Maine seeking a new life full of joy and opportunity. She writes, “I have not been disappointed by this picturesque state or wonderful school.”
